Frozen Results

Frozen Result,  18x12, possibly for sale if you ask nice enough.
Here is that piece I was talking about in my last post. It was barely double digit degrees outside with the wind chill and i even painted up hill both ways!! It seems like i was warm enough to get the drawing right and after that I lost it.. The brush went wild and on its own adventure. I like it though and for about forty minutes Ill take it.

This scene is at my new place and caught my eye when i first came to view it. I know I will be trying again in the near future but hopefully a little warmer out when I do.

A rumor I heard once is that (have I said this before?) Russian painters used to bring vodka to mix into their oils to keep them looser, the paint that is.. Sure they did..

Thanks for stopping by!

I guess if you're lazy that quote is pretty comforting.. ha! I'm kidding..

Well....I think I rather like it...especially the brushwork. Must have something to do with the cold stiff paint.

Hey Darrell, thank you! I have to admit, I kinda do to. It seems to be a doorway into looser work.. I may step thru. Gotta see what's in there right?

I keep trying to get looser but haven't quite found my voice yet....yes, we keep trying...

I admire the way you've controlled the close values with subtle colour changes. More lovely brushwork.

Great spontaneity here, Dan! I especially like the mood of the painting.

Hey Mick, thank you! It was all a blurr, a chilly blurr!

If you haven't found your voice yet Darrell, I'm enjoying following you look for it!

This one sums up where I think your work is heading. It's really exciting, and I can't wait for more. You da man!

Thank you Kyle! I agree, this may be the natural progression showing early pre spring buds.
