Last Legs

So I just noticed recently that the announcement was posted on their website so I know it's ok to say it here.. I found out that I was invited to participate in this coming years Door County Plein Air event! This is great news, if you remember from past posts, I drove all the way there, painted and painted then didn't win the invite... Well I think either the work or determination paid off and I got someone's attention cause I'm going.

Happy Thanksgiving and Happy painting!

This piece is from my recent travels and exploring of Brunswick and Harpswell. "Last Legs" 16x20".

Great painting Dan and congrats on the Door County invite. Better to get invited that way than winning it in the paint off anyway. At least you know they really want you. Looking forward to it. Hope it's not quite as hot as it was last year.

Congrats! The painting is greatness too. Love the subject and how you handled it.

At last, some news indicating an improvement in taste of people organising painting events. Well done.

This picture is a stunning example of an artist at the height of their powers in observing and translating that observation into a totally convincing set of values on the canvas. Besides that the image makes me smile.

wonderful painting Dan, you always manage to create such a delightful busy environment around a subject which keeps the viewer's attention.

Hey Frank, thanks! Yeah I guess that's a good way to look at it. The heat last year has me thinking about seeing if I can paint inside a Bikram yoga studio to get ready. :))

Thank you Randy!

Thanks Mick! I hope it's a sign of things to come. I just hope I can do well there and my work connects with the people/collectors there in some way. If you would like to travel there and talk about my work to them I would appreciate it. I'm kidding! Thanks alot Mick.

Hi anonymous, thank you for your kind words from the shadows.

Thanks Tom!

Hi Bill, thank you! Happy Thanksgiving and holidays!

Thank you Rahina! Also, thank you for noticing.

Hi Bill, thank you! Keep an eye open as it is the season of giving and would love it if one of my seasonal treats end up in the hands of a loyal bloggey.
