This pc is approx 30" x 30" which is bigger then what I normally do and was done yesterday morning, before the latest storm covered us with about 2 ft of snow. The sun came out for about 45 mins and it was nice to see warm colors again even if it was on snow. This morning I could not even get my Wife's Jeep out of its parking spot never mind the yard. I plan on doing more snow paintings with all the new feet of snow we received, but I'm afraid my plow guy is not coming and I have a few tons of snow to shovel. OH - now, that one has a "voice" - and, it's a voice I'm liking. It's all foggy and mysterious, but not smeary and amoebic. That little tree in front - wait - I have to go look at it again......to be finished in the next comment.....

- yep - I'm back - it's those wee trees up front that make the tree trunks in the forest have sense to them. but, I'm not a painter and not rich enough to be a collector, so my eyes don't have much value. but, well, I like that one a lot. It has character - or, "voice" - and I like it. It's evocative and atmospheric and makes you want to go in - makes ME want to go in - not just stand back and say, "Ah, mmmmmmm, yes, isn't the technique just, well big and buttery like this cabernet - I think I'll try it with the gorgonzola. You, dear? Does it pair well with the oak in your Central Coast Chardonnay?" No. It makes you just want to go in there and settle in with the doe and her fawns in that warm bed of yellow - there's bound to be another one way safe in that forest.

oh - I just saw Frank's comment out of the corner of my eye - he referenced a quote - I usually don't read the post til after I look at the painting and comment on it. I guess I'll go back and see what you quoted.........
In Scandinavia, they like Christmas a lot. One Christmas Eve isn't enough - they have a Christmas Eve Eve - Lille Jule Aften - Little Christmas Eve. That's the 23rd, and I think that's today.......Yes. So, Happy Little Christmas Eve!

Usually the quote is somehow related to the picture or the write up, this one I guess could be related to everything from surviving the current economy to painting a painting that you might wanna look at again in a week..?..
