Little Panel Big Value (to me)

This is the little study for the larger painting I posted some weeks back. I used these small panels to kind of take notes of colors that might flash to me and give a composition in my head a chance to work or not. I personally love to see the small panel studies from my favorites, it gives me a glimpse into what they do when thinking fast with a brush in their hand. Just for the record I wasn't thinking; I was freezing. Quote:"They'll sell you thousands of Greens. Veronese green, emerald green, cadmium green and any sort of green you like; but that particular green, never." Pablo Picasso.

I love seeing the little gems too Dan. I'm glad you posted this one.
Good quote on the greens. Mixing greens is the way to go. Some of the folks in my class last week were really jonesing for their tubes of green paint. I would only let them use that limited palette that I use.

I'm starting to build up my own little collection and often spend a sneaky ten minutes or so before I retire for the evening browsing through them. I can see storage becoming a problem. It's bad enough waiting for them to dry. Are you going to publish a book of Dan's favourite quotes. You pick some belters.

Hey Dan, nice, the process is always fun. Sounds like you're all set after prepping those larger panels too. All set to work through that storm headed your way, right?

Catching up on your paintings, love these, especially the doorknob, because I don't think I've seen anyone paint a picture of a doorknob before. :)

Did you have your show yet? If so how did it go?

Hey Mick, Do you mean a collection of your paintings? or online picures of others paintings? either way its good food for thought. you know as far as quotes go I do kind of collect them and I also seem to gravitate towards books that have the actual words of the subject, so a book of quotes wouldn't be out of the question in the future.

Hey Eric, yeah the primeing is done and I'm working on a few things indoors when the natural light is decent, my Apt has all west and southern windows so it can get interesting..?. but right now as I respond to you its about 18 degrees and snowing sideways.

Hey Allison, Thanks, and the show is .....April 29th. I will probably post pics from the opening here, I'm getting anxious for it and the weather will not cooperate.

I'll be moving to Texas during your show, it's a shame I can't go through Maine in the process but that would more than double my moving time :/ Looking forward to the pictures!
