Sun Bleached 24x30

Ok, I'm back. My off season abuse of the Blog is about over. I promise! This is a recent painting (Sun Bleached 24x30")  from near my new home area in Brunswick. I saw this pattern of darks, some great color and had to paint it. I actually didn't make it off my street while searching for a muse this day.

As I write this, Maine is in the early stages of possibly a foot of snow, it is really coming down and looks beautiful. I wish we could move the holidays a little so the snow here would match up a little more with Christmas... Who's with me?  Lets move Christmas!!

Yeah, the first thing I thought, was great pattern.
You are really PAINTING, in this piece, and I really like that!
I'm happy for you, to get one close to home. That always feels great, right!?

Good luck with the snow, I sure wish we had some her in WI. There's nothing but yellow ochre all over the place.

I'm always impressed by the way you depict shadows, your control over the breadth of value range and the way your shadows still speak of the local colour. This is a great example of all that.

Hey Kyle, thanks man! Yeah I have been exploring the local landscape more and more. Can't wait to show you some sweet spots that are within a few miles of where we are living. Man we need private jets...

Yellow ochre can be good, just surround it like it has hostages with colors that make it surrender... :)) blue tang
