Proud Mary

So here is a 16x20" titled "Proud Mary" recently delivered to Camden Falls Gallery in Camden Maine. I am using this piece to paint a much larger studio piece and trying to refine the color harmony without abandoning what I found in front of the subject. Maybe if it works out I will share it here for comparison.

"Sweet is the memory of distant friends! Like the mellow rays of the departing sun, it falls tenderly, yet sadly, on the heart." Washington Irving

Usual great light depicted by your value choices . Is the shadow under the boat consistent with the play of light on the structure in front of the boat? Thought you should know the two little pieces of yours that I own are now a small special feature in our hall and much admired by visitors.

Hey Mick, thank you! Yes I think that's how the light was.. Either way that's the way it is now. I like the design.
Great to hear you are enjoying my part of your collection.
