Lupine Gallery, Monhegan Island

After my recent trip to Monhegan Island (mentioned a post or three ago)  I am elated to announce that my work will be showing at Thee Lupine Gallery on Monhegan Island. I am honored to hang on the same walls as some of my heroes in painting... what else can I say?...

Congratulations although I'm not surprised..you are a remarkable colourist(Canadian SP) --oh that green! And your compositions are really --well, I catch my breath --you and Kyle Martin ever think of doing a show?

More colourist than tonalist. Is this a shift back from the recent synthesis of the two approaches that has been evident in your work. Having said that your remarkable use of colour has always been a great strength and this is a fine example of Dan at his best.

Dan,
What great news. It's been great following your rising star over the past couple of years. You're working hard, and it's really showing. I know I've said it before on here, but your work "really has it"

Hi Jan, you are too kind! Flattered..
Hmmmmm a show wih Kyle...... Yeah that would be great, I will see what we can do.

Hey Mick, Thanks, this piece is from my residency on Monhegan last year. If you click on it you will see the "09" after my initials, 2009. I like keeping a sort of limbo between the color and the tone, painting the one that attracted me in the first place.

Thanks Kyle, you are the "rising star" keep it up! Oh yeah, let plan a two man show thing. ??
