HI all! here is a 20x24" I did recently from one of my new favorite locations. I would love to ramble here but the suns out and its above (slightly) freezing here in Bristol ME, my palette is loaded (and filling the house with the great smell of linseed oil) so I'm heading out to paint. thanks for stopping by.

Lovely confident piece that has a real maturity about it.
Nice piece Dan. I can see why you like the spot. Love the way you handled the building. Thought you guys did not have that much snow this year.
Thanks Mick, hope all is well on your side of the pond.
Thank you Frank, There wasn't much snow around when this was done but the snow mounds from plowing can last til May depending on the size.
All right Dan! Good to see another piece. It's good to see that you are exploring the same subject again and again, really observing and feeling it. The brilliance in the sky is far out. We have had some snow melting days here in Wisconsin, I hope the nice weather makes it out to you soon.
Kyle
P.S. I like the greying out of the shadow. These sort of sensitivities are what makes your work great. I also think you got everything you could out of the trunk of the tree.
Thanks Kyle, I think that exploring a subject a little longer than I usually do can help extract some of the instant magic that attracted me to the scene in the first place..
amazing amount of snow.
Where is this place in Bristol?
HI Kathy, There wasnt much snow on the ground when I painted this but there is a plowed driveway that is hidden behind the built up plow mounds that run from right to left in the painting. This location is right where Rt1 and Rt1b intersect heading towards Waldoboro. Its the place where the hospital does that big yard sale thing. let me know if you wanna go paint.. :)
