January Shanty

This lil piece (6"x8") was painted about a couple months ago but as i write this......yes, it is snowing. Most of what had built up has melted and the mud has taken over. The landscape is a little tough to paint if your into postcards.

I couldn't decide on today's quote so two it is!!

Quote1: "Real painters understand with a brush in their hand ... what does anyone do with rules? Nothing worthwhile."  Berthe Moriset.

Quote 2 : "Do not worry about your originality. You could not get rid of it even if you wanted to."  Robert Henri.

I enjoy the handling on the latest two pieces, Dan. This 6x8 is way too sweet! One thing I noticed in alot of your winter pieces was the pushing of the warmer temperatures, especially the warms. It really made the cools stand out, and it shows how much you are not copying nature.
I can't wait for the "real" spring to happen.
Have fun painting the snow and mud,
Kyle
